Global Rapid Response Supports Stability and Recovery Efforts in New Orleans
Private Security and Crisis Managers Support New Orleans
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Rapid Response(TM), a Steele Foundation service, has mobilized a Crisis Response Team to support those trapped in New Orleans and neighboring cities and states to assist clients in the recovery efforts of Hurricane Katrina. As of 9:30 AM PDT, a Mobile Command Post and Multiple Incident Management Teams were deployed to downtown New Orleans where they will assess the state of security and safety at designated client locations, identify ingress and egress routes, provide and coordinate critical supplies and resources such as fuel and food, and implement contingency plans to evacuate people as requested. In addition to the incident management team, several Quick Reaction Security Teams and multiple Damage Assessment Teams have been activated to travel into New Orleans to protect client personnel and to help secure assets. To support the logistics and movement of personnel and supplies, dedicated air assets, consisting of helicopters, are standing by, as well as fuel trucks and buses to transport victims of the hurricane.
At a time when federal recovery agencies are staged outside of New Orleans and unable to assist the population due to security risks; at a time when the private security and public law enforcement agencies have been decimated; when companies have been unable to secure government resources; when fuel sources have been depleted and emergency generators are failing; when the downtown area has been cut off from food supplies; when people are trapped in buildings and unable to evacuate on their own, Global Rapid Response(TM) has been able to proactively support clients during the crisis. Within two hours of notification, Global Rapid Response(TM) was able to coordinate the delivery of 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel into New Orleans.
